About The Nurture Nook
Why is Early Intervention important for children with SEND?
Early intervention aims to address developmental delays and challenges as soon as possible, during the critical early years of a child's life. This timely support can help optimize the child's development socially, emotionally, and physically. By addressing learning differences and educational needs early on, children are better equipped to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
Our role is to prepare children for entering a nursery or preschool environment, supporting the development of foundational skills that will make the transition to mainstream education easier for both children and their families.
We also recognise that families with children who have learning differences or SEND can feel empowered through early intervention. It is important that parents and families feel they have the knowledge, resources, and strategies they need to play an active role in their child’s progress, which is why it is so important to us at The Nurture Nook to see this as a collaborative process.
What Special Educational Needs, Disabilities, or Learning Differences do you cater for?
We welcome children with all kinds of SEND or learning differences, including but not limited to:

Frequently Asked Questions
We know that there’s a lot to consider to make sure that you’re finding the best support for your child, so if your question isn’t answered below, feel free to get in touch with our team who will be happy to talk to you about how we can help.
Our two-hour session will deliver a personalised intervention program that focuses on your child’s special interests and will give them the skills needed to support any development delay. This will create learning opportunities to support their engagement and to make connections to the world around them. Children will experience aspects of a nursery day over the session exposing them to daily routines for short periods. This allows them to get used to what is expected of them, building positive experiences.
There will be two, 2 hour sessions on Mondays and Fridays, running at 8:30am - 10:30am / 11am - 1pm / 1:30pm - 3:30pm.
Our program has been designed for 2 hours sessions at a time and we do not offer full day care at The Nurture Nook.
Each session costs £60, and there will be 2 sessions per week for 12 weeks. Payments will be taken in 3 installments, each by the 1st of the month.
We invite parents to attend the first session: a “Settle Session”. This is a chance to ease into the transition, allowing you to see what happens in our sessions, and giving you and your little one to adjust to this new routine. We recommend only one parent comes to these sessions. After the first session, parents do not attend sessions.
This is a cohesive 12-week program designed to be completed from start to finish. We aim to provide children with a solid foundation for entering a nursery or preschool setting so when you register, you will register for a 12-week block and should attend every session within that block.
Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children may help with the extra costs of looking after a child who:
is under 16
has difficulties walking or needs much more looking after than a child of the same age who does not have a disability
They will need to meet all the eligibility requirements, which you can learn more about by clicking here.
Your DLA can be used toward payment for your child’s place at The Nurture Nook. For further information on this, please talk to our team.
The charity Families in Focus are also well-versed at helping parents and carerscomplete the necessary forms, so don’t hesitate to reach out to them for support:http://www.familiesinfocusessex.org.uk/our-services/
Our 12-week program is currently our only program and has been designed to be completed within these 12 weeks and provide you with everything you need to transition into a nursery or preschool setting.
